I joined scouting at the age of six as a Tiger Cub Scout in Newtown CT. By the time I was 11 years old I had earned the Webelos II rank and the Arrow of Light award. I then advanced to Boy Scouts and over the next seven years earned the ranks of Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star Scout, and Life Scout.
NYLT teaches invaluable leadership skills to the young men and women that will be our future leaders. The course centers around the concepts of what a leader must BE, what a leader must KNOW, and what a leader must DO. The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO, and the skills come alive during the weeklong course.
